“Just because the graphics are better doesn’t mean the game is better” CGRHD pars up a bogie with a birdie in this game of 9-hole retro video game golf action on the Atari 2600. Long before Tiger Woods 2K8 golf on the Xbox 360, or Golden Tee, we played Golf on the Atari 2600.
The Atari 2600 had lots of sports games like bowling, football, baseball, ice hockey, boxing and yes… golf.
You don’t visit some of the most exotic golf courses in the country like Pinehurst, Pebble Beach, Oakmont, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Winged Foot Golf Club, Oakland Hills, Olympia Fields or Bethpage State Park. There aren’t celebrity golfers like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino or Jim Furyk. You don’t even play 18-holes of championship golf. You play 9 holes of Atari golf.
Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. Xbox Live Arcade XBLA.

Classic Game Room season 1. January 15, 2000. Fight ninjas and play golf in this unique twist on an action side scroller and a sports game, NINJA GOLF for the Atari 7800 Pro System. You are a violent ninja with martial arts movie skills. Fight you way down the fairway to the green and battle ninjas, gophers (aka badgers in this review) giant frogs, sharks and dragons. Your weapons are a katana sword, throwing stars, driving wood and five iron. You don’t put really, you actually fight a fire breathing dragon for the final, flawless victory in Ninja Golf. What an amazing fighting game. Be a warrier, be a golfer, be both. This game should be remade at once for the Playstation 3 PS3, Xbox 360 Live Arcade, Wii and the Sega Genesis immediately! This is an old school Classic Game Room video game review from the year 2000.
